A $2,000 bonus applies and will be paid out as follows:

$500.00 first pay period

$500.00 after first 90 days

$1,000 after completion of first year in full time status

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of imaging procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols.  Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs.  Participates in CQI activities. Competency will be maintained in accordance with criteria defined by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART).

 

  • Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high strength magnets and related equipment to produce special images of specific body parts.  
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
  • Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during exam.
  • Take thorough and accurate patient medical histories and notify the Radiologist as necessary.
  • Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance.
  • Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment as required.
  • Coordinate work with clerical personnel and other technologists.
  • Start I.V's and administer contrast media as directed and per protocol.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to physician.
  • Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality.
  • Proficient use of PACS and performs image QA.
  • Accurately process, modify and complete exams in EMR.
  • Responsible to take call and follow callback guidelines.
  • Takes responsibility for professional growth and development.
  • Assist other technologists during downtime.
  • Perform  QA for MRI.
  • Daily check of the procedures charged report. Check for any missed charges.
  • Weekly staffing of MRI weekend technologists.  Communications and education for MRI techs.
  • Monitor patient safety, quality standards and policy updates/changes for MRI.
  • Must be able no identify malfunction  of radiologic equipment and arrange service repair.
  • Preceptor/orientation for new employees 
  • Utilizes Relationship base care by consistently placing relationships between caregivers, patients/families and self at the center of care delivery. Every employee at THCDS is a caregiver.
  • Adheres to Performance Standards and Professional Requirements as outlined in the Performance Standards handbook.

Qualifications

  • High School; BS degree preferred
  • 0-3 years of Clinical Experience 
  • License: ARRT and CMRT;  Certifications:  BLS, certified by State of Texas to practice and administer radiation; certification by the American College of Radiology (ACR) in Computed Technology
