Responsibilities

 

  • Evaluate physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, route of administration and stability. Make recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and facility staff as appropriate.
  • Maintain a smooth flow of drug delivery to all patient care areas. Ensure and reinforce safe usage of the drugs. Compound medications/ IV's safely and as needed.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide clinical and technical support as needed.
  • Be compliant with all applicable pharmacy laws and standards (ex. State Board of Pharmacy, Joint Commission, etc.)
  • Perform order entry and item master maintenance
  • Serve as a resource for drug information.
  • Participate in process improvement activities with a commitment to continually improve the work environment and safety for our patients.
  • Adhere to Organizational Performance Standards and Professional Requirements 
  • Maintain a high work ethic, provide leadership, and build teamwork

Qualifications

Applicant must be:

  • Patient focused
  • Flexible
  • Reliable in regard to timeliness, attendance, and quality of work
  • Able to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, and in writing
  • Able to establish and maintain positive relationships - team oriented

Job Requirements:

  • Active Texas pharmacist license
  • Able to work varied shifts during hours of operation: Monday-Friday 7:00am-9:00pm
